At its heart, science is about trying to understand the world we live in. In the Vick-Majors lab, we care about sharing our experiences and passion for science by picking up puzzle pieces from the environment, trying to understand the stories they tell, and then relaying the stories to colleagues and the public.
Our work has been covered by various news outlets. Here are a few:
The ParAqua Podcast interviewed Dr. Vick-Majors on her work studying the polar regions.
An Associated Press story on changing winters was picked up by 400+ news outlets.
A story by WLUC TV6 on changing winters in the Great Lakes featured Michigan Tech and Dr. Vick-Majors.
Dr. Vick-Majors was quoted in a cover story for Science News on life in Antarctic subglacial aquatic environments.
On our winter research in the Lake Superior region and our collaboration with the Great Lakes Winter Network (GLWiN) Winter Grab by TV6 News.
Dr. Vick-Majors on dealing with life in isolation, by Vice.
An excellent story published in Discover Magazine walks the reader through the how and why of studying Whillans Subglacial Lake. It also has some great photos!
